Prodigys in my area have been going for 1350, which is at least 8-900 cheaper than the cheapest staccato. My suggestion is if you won't die from spending the extra $, then save up for a staccato. Keep hearing some issues where buyers have to send back to Springfield but they will likely work that out. Having said that, I have exactly zero issues with my P from day one, and it eats anything I feed it!!! When comparing the Staccato P, Springfield Armory Prodigy, and Bul Armory Tac 425, several factors come into play. In terms of features, all three pistols offer something unique. However, the Staccato P stands out for its integrated compensated barrel, while the Prodigy boasts an ergonomic design.

The frame and slide finish is superior, the slide to rail fitment is slightly better (slide racks more smoothly on the Staccato) and the Staccato trigger is slightly crisper and lighter. The Staccato seemed to return to POA quicker though. Trigger was definitely better in Staccato but I think the $160 Atlas kit in the Prodigy would beat it. If you take apart Staccato and Springfield mags you'll find the latter is sprung quite a bit more. Imo the Staccato mags are under-sprung, especially in the 20 rounders. Easy fix is to put Atlas extra power springs in them. I need to do more testing but in my limited sample, the Prodigy mags have been solid in my P.
